Mind Map of All's Well That Ends Well

All's Well That Ends Well is a comedy play written by William Shakespeare. Helen heals King Louis XVI of France, and the King agrees to let her marry Bertram, the man she loves. Bertram rejects her and gives her a list of things to complete in order for him to recognize their marriage. Bertram accepts her as his wife when she follows him to Italy and completes all of the tasks. Bertram is compelled to marry Helena. Bertram refuses to consummate their marriage. He goes to Italy. In Italy he courts Diana. Helena meets Diana. They perform the bed trick. The play is one of Shakespeare's "problem plays", a play that poses complex ethical dilemmas. Both Lafew and the Countess had already told Bertram that Parolles is a braggart and coward. Bertram returns to Rossillion, where the King is on a visit, after the peace is signed. Everyone believes Helena is dead. Bertram is offered the opportunity to marry Lafew's daughter. Bertram hands his ring over to Lafew, but the King identifies it as the one he gave Helena, and Bertram is arrested. When Helena shows herself, Diana gains access to the meeting and relates her story, which is proven to be accurate. Helena and Bertram are reconciled when Bertram declares his love for her.
