Position the instrument in a suitable environment.
Plug in the power cord in an outlet supplying ample amount of voltage with the Earth terminal kept grounded.
Plug in the power cord in an outlet supplying ample amount of voltage with the Earth terminal kept grounded.
Switch on the power button.
Upon switching on the instrument, its brand name would be seen to be displayed.
Subsequent to brand name appearance, system check is automatically started.
When no error is detected, instrument would proceed to system warm up.
For 20 minutes, the instrument would stabilize.
After 20 minutes or the time dark current starts, instrument warm up can immediately be stopped by pressing any key.
Main menu is put on view, wherein its functions including Photometry, Quantitative analysis and System setting is displayed.
Selection of instrument function to be used is done by using the UP and DOWN arrow buttons and pressing the ENTER key.
Select Photometry measurement.
Press the ENTER button, to view the main screen of Photometry measurement.
To see the mode selection screen, SET button must be pressed.
Appearance of a check mark on the right side of the chosen measuring mode would indicate selection.
ESC button must be pressed to confirm selection and to return the screen to the main screen of Photometry function.
Select Energy measurement mode.
Energy screen would appear.
Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons, to select between various gain multipliers.
To see the setting screen, GO TO button must be pressed.
Screen would ask for a valid wavelength input, principally the range must only be within 190 to 1100 nm.
Enter a valid wavelength then press the ENTER button (entering an invalid data would trigger error alarm sounds simultaneous to returning to the Photometry measurement main screen display).
Correct wavelength input by pressing the CLEAR button and reentering the correct one.
Screen would return to the Photometry measurement main screen.
Insert blank sample to the sample holder while making sure that it is on the optical path and a quartz square cuvette is used for tests using less than 340 nm wavelength.
Press ZERO button.
0.000 at Abs mode or 100.0%T at %T mode must be seen on the screen to proceed.
After the expected values appeared on the screen, press ENTER to return to the measuring screen.
Insert the actual sample to be measured, guaranteeing that it is aligned with the optical path.
Appearance of calculated Absorbance and Transmittance on the screen.
CLEAR button must be pressed to delete data.
Select “Yes” and press the ENTER button to ensure permanent data deletion.
Select “No” and press the ENTER button or ESC button to cancel the data deletion process.
Press the PRINT to obtain data printout.
