Change in how Humans convey their emotions and feelings
Humans used to express their emotions and feelings through poems and songs but now we express through visual imagery on social media platforms
In the short story "LIKES", the father had to go through the daughter’s phone and Instagram to know more about her as she was difficult to communicate with. Ivy expressed herself through her social media posts for example- when she had difficulty in performing ballet due to her physical illness she posted a photo of a peeled-off pair of ballet tights, splayed on the white tiles of a bathroom floor which symbolized her situation. A similar argument has been made by the poet of “Manifesto of the Lyric Selfie” where she emphasizes that people have evolved from expressing their feeling through songs and poems to expressing them through visual aids on social media platforms.
