Being very good conductors of heat and electricity, the metal does not get affected by air and most reagents.The element is corrosion resistant and is present in deposits of alluvium and veins.Most common gold compounds include chloroauric acid and auric chloride.To provide more strength to the metal, another soft metal is alloyed to it.

ALUMINIUM

PROPERTIES

Aluminum is a silver-like metal with a slightly bluish tint. It has a melting point of 660°C (1,220°F) and a boiling point of 2,327-2,450°C (4,221-4,442°F). The density is 2.708 grams per cubic centimeter. Aluminum is both ductile and malleable. Ductile means capable of being pulled into thin wires. Malleable means capable of being hammered into thin sheets. Aluminum is an excellent conductor of electricity. Silver and copper are better conductors than aluminum but are much more expensive. Engineers are looking for ways to use aluminum more often in electrical equipment because of its lower costs.

The presence of nitrogen as a major impurity in diamond has been noted, as also has the occurrence of boron (< 20 ppm) which accounts for the semiconducting properties of Type IIb diamond. As a chemical sink for various elements, diamond is fairly poor with regard to concentration levels, although 58 elements have been recognized at the trace impurity level.

Magnesium is used by a scientist in medicine. It is used to treat widely in skin related problems and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, mania, recovery after surgery etc. The green leafy vegetable is an excellent source of Magnesium. Whole grain, seeds, and nuts (Mainly almonds) are also a great source of Magnesium. The flashbulbs also contain Magnesium. When Mg burns, it produces a bright light that helps the photographers to take photos in the dark.

Mercury is moderately active. It does not react with oxygen in the air. It reacts with some acids when they are hot, but not with most cold acids.

In modern times, Graphite is usually consumed in steelmaking, brake linings, lubricants, foundry facings, batteries to name a few. One of the important components of graphite viz. graphene has certain special features and is one of the widely known strong materials. To separate the component from the carbon crystal would require better advances in technology. The uses of the crystal include electrodes and refractories used in applications for processing materials in high temperature.
