The Internet provides: > Services such as : E-mail – used for exchange of electronic mail messages. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) - a system for storing and retrieving data files on large computer systems – used for file sharing. > Remote Access: Gopher - a method of searching for various text-based Internet resources (largely obsolete). Telnet - a way of connecting directly to computer systems on the Internet by using login name and password.

World Wide Web (WWW) What is WWW?- A system that allows user to navigate quickly from one document to another. -An electronic document on the Web is called a Web page. -A Web page can contain text, graphics, sound, video & animation. -Web pages are individual Web documents, and they are hosted on a Web site. -A Web site is a collection of related Web documents that are made available to the public. -The index page, or home page, is the first page users see when they access a Web site.
