Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, soshall you become.

Your Vision is the promise of what

you shall one day be.

Your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shallat last unveil.

Your circumstances may be uncongenial,but they shall not long remain so if you butperceive an Ideal and strive to reach it. Youcannot travel within and stand still without.

Whatever your present environment maybe, you will fall, remain, or rise with yourthoughts, your Vision, your Ideal.

And you, too, youthful reader, will realize theVision (not the idle wish) of your heart, be itbase or beautiful, or a mixture of both, foryou will always gravitate toward that whichyou, secretly, most love.

You will become as small as your controllingdesire; as great as your dominant aspiration:

The thoughtless, the ignorant, and theindolent, seeing only the apparent effects ofthings and not the things themselves, talk ofluck, of fortune, and chance.

In all human affairs there are efforts, andthere are results, and the strength of theeffort is the measure of the result. Chance isnot.

The Vision that you glorify in your mind, theIdeal that you enthrone in your heart—thisyou will build your life by, this you willbecome.

UNTIL thought is linked with purpose thereis no intelligent accomplishment.

Aimlessness is a vice, and such drifting mustnot continue for him who would steer clearof catastrophe and destruction.

Those who have no central purposefall prey to everything petty

A man should conceive of a legitimatepurpose in his heart, and set out toaccomplish it. He should make this purposethe centralizing point of his thoughts.

Even if he fails again and again toaccomplish his purpose (as he necessarilymust until weakness is overcome),

To begin to think with purpose, is to enterthe ranks of those strong ones

Thoughts allied to purpose become acreative force

ALL that a man achieves and all that he failsto achieve is the direct result of his ownthoughts.

As he thinks, so he is; as he continues tothink, so he remains.

Men are anxious to improve theircircumstances, but are unwilling to improvethemselves; they therefore remain bound.

that man is the causer (though nearly alwaysis unconsciously) of his circumstances, andthat, whilst aiming at a good end, he iscontinually frustrating its accomplishment byencouraging thoughts and desires whichcannot possibly harmonize with that end.

A particular train of thought persisted in, beit good or bad, cannot fail to produce itsresults on the character and circumstances. .

MAN'S mind may be likened to agarden, which may be intelligentlycultivated or allowed to run wild; butwhether cultivated or neglected, itmust, and will, bring forth. If no usefulseeds are put into it, then anabundance of useless weedseedswill fall therein, and will continue toproduce their kind.

As the plant springs from, andcould not be without, the seed,so every act of a man springsfrom the hidden seeds ofthought, and could not haveappeared without them. Thisapplies equally to those actscalled "spontaneous" and"unpremeditated" as to those,which are deliberately executed.
